EDUC-209 Evaluation & IEP 3 cr. Required for Special Education. This course offers an understanding of the screening, evaluation, eligibility, and re-evaluation processes for special needs students. Topics include the standardization, administration, and interpretation of criterion-referenced, curriculum-based, authentic, and informal assessments, as well as observation and checklist/rating scales. Special emphasis is placed on instructional decision-making, IEP documentation, record-keeping, and implementation. This course requires 10 hrs. of classroom observation.
