The Associate of Science degree in Geology provides our students with principles, knowledge, and skills necessary for transfer into a Bachelor of Science in Geology program at a four-year college or university. Students will complete their general education core and take foundational coursework in geology. Students will study the processes that operate on Earth, including plate tectonics and volcanism, the rocks and minerals that make up the Earth, and how we use this information to interpret the planet’s history. Students are strongly encouraged to meet with a transfer advisor early and coordinate SJC coursework to best meet the requirements of their transfer institution.
