Welding Certificate - General

The General Welding Certificate offers students introductory level hands on course work in the weld shop setting over the following subjects, Blueprint reading, Oxy/Fuel cutting, metal fabrication, Basic Shielded Metal Arc Welding, Gas Metal Arc Welding, and Gas Tungsten Arc Welding skills will be introduced. Tests to AWS 1.1 Structural Code will be required.
Note: All students must follow WELD course number sequence and all students must pass each class with a grade of ‘C’ or higher to move on to next sequence of courses.
- Students may take WELD 128 or take all four courses: WELD 129, WELD 130, WELD 131, and WELD 132 together.

SJC First Year Experience Requirement: 3 Credits
Program Core Requirements: 24 Credits
TOTAL CERTIFICATE REQUIREMENTS: 24-27 Credits
