The Associate of Arts degree in Human Services-Criminal Justice will provide students with principles, knowledge, and skills required to begin a career in the field of human services. Students wishing to transfer to a baccalaureate granting institution and pursue a degree in Human Services are strongly encouraged to check with their advisor and coordinate their course work at San Juan College with the requirements of the transfer institution. In general, however, it is suggested that students complete the New Mexico Transfer Module as outlined below.
Note: Student must earn a grade of ‘C’ or higher in all courses to obtain a Human Services-Criminal Justice A.A. degree.

SJC First Year Experience Requirement: 0-3 Credits
General Education Requirements: 31 Credits
Social/Behavioral Science:
Program Core Requirements: 21-22 Credits
Approved Criminal Justice Track Electives
Approved Human Services Electives
Approved Sociology Electives
Additional Social and Behavioral Science Requirement: 3 Credits
Choose one additional Social and Behavioral Science science course from the following: Electives: 1-5 Credits
Take courses totaling 4-5 credits to meet program total of 60 credits. Courses must be numbered 1110 or higher. It is recommended that students take courses in Human Services, Sociology, Psychology, or Anthropology.
TOTAL DEGREE REQUIREMENTS: 60-64 Credits
