The Welding/Metal Fabrication Program stresses the practical applications of welding on plate and pipe in all positions and the necessary theory to support those skill levels. Welding skills are developed by using the following processes: oxy-acetylene, stick electrode, gas metal arc welding (GMAW), and gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW). Support courses in mathematics, blueprint reading, drafting, and metallurgy are included in the program. Notes: - A student must earn a grade of ‘C’ or higher in all courses required for the program in order to receive a degree or certificate.
- Attendance is an intricate part of the learning process, thus, poor attendance can contribute to poor student success.
- All courses must be taken in course number sequence.

SJC First Year Experience Requirement: 3 Credits
General Education Requirements: 16-17 Credits
Remaining Requirement:
- Elective 3 (From Social/Behavioral Science, Humanities, or Fine Arts)
Program Core Requirements: 51 Credits
TOTAL DEGREE REQUIREMENTS: 66-70 Credits
