EDUC-275 Elementary Teaching Field Experience

Required for Elementary. Provides an opportunity for students to conduct classroom instruction, with the support of a cooperating teacher and a college supervisor, in an elementary school setting. The state requires this practicum to include a minimum of 105 hours in a classroom. Field observations emphasize the value of connecting learning theory with actual practice and the use of reflection for continuous instructional improvement. Other coursework involves a review of the Common Core State Standards and the NM teacher competencies.The student must earn a grade of B or higher to be successful in this course. Prerequisites: EDUC 240 , EDUC 250 Corequisites: EDUC 252 , EDUC 260 and EDUC 264
