The School of Business offers several two-year degree options. The Associate of Arts degree (AA) is a business focused degree aimed at transferring students to four-year bachelor degree programs available at peer institutions. The AA program is also available online. School of Business also offers a range of Associate of Applied Science degrees (AAS). These programs are generally designed to include necessary skills to enable students to gain employment in specific fields. Our AAS degrees include Accounting, business Administration, Digital Media Arts and Design, and Legal Assistant. The Computer Science Associate of Science (AS) transfer degree is for students interested in software programming and design. Certificate programs are also available in Administrative Office Assistant, Bookkeeping and Payroll Accounting, Business Foundations, Computer Science, and Management.

With the main offices at 800 S. Hutton in south Farmington, the School of Energy supports economic development through training and educational programs responsive to the needs of the energy industry and related businesses. The school offers classes in Petroleum Technology, Natural Gas Compression, Industrial Process Operations, Commercial Drivers License (CDL) and Occupational Safety. Courses are designed to include hands-on workshops and seminars to help individuals gain entry-level, professional and/or advancement training starting with basic petroleum technology, safety, drilling, production practices, work-over, well control, process technology, pump jack technology, Commercial Drivers License A and B, hazardous materials/hazardous operators/ hazard communications, and natural gas compression. Training encompasses entry, supervisory and management levels and is also offered through the Center for Workforce Training.

The School of Health Sciences consists of a variety of programs that support the health professions and wellness. Current degree programs are: Associate of Applied Science in Dental Hygiene, Health Information Technology (HIT), Surgical Technology, Respiratory Therapy, Medical Laboratory Technology, Occupational Therapy Assistant, and Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA); Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN); and Associate of Arts in Outdoor Leadership. Both the PTA and HIT program are also available online. Certificate programs include Medical Insurance Coder/Biller. The School also offers courses in physical fitness, wellness, nutrition, and health. Entry into degree programs is competitive and requires the completion of pre-requisite classes. Many of the degree and certificate programs offered by the School of Health Sciences prepare graduates to sit for state or national certification or licensure exams. The School offers courses in Nurse Aide Certification (CNA), Phlebotomy, and Pharmacy Tech, which also prepare students to sit for a certification exam upon successful completion of the required coursework.

The School of Humanities offers general education courses in humanities, social sciences, and fine arts; courses in developmental English and reading; Associate of Arts degrees in liberal arts with concentrations in many of the disciplines; Associate of Applied Science; and Associate of Arts programs in Early Childhood Education, Elementary, Secondary, and Special Education, Psychology and Human Services. The School of Humanities comprises four departments: Social Sciences and History, which includes anthropology, psychology, sociology, political science, human services, history, and philosophy; Language and Education, which includes student success, modern languages, reading, speech, and early childhood education, Elementary, Secondary, and Special Education; Fine Arts, which includes visual arts, photography, music, and theatre; English, which includes composition, technical writing, and literature courses, and Community and Public Events, which includes the Office of Public Events, the SJC Art Gallery and the KSJE Radio Station. The School Of Humanities also oversees the Child and Family Development Center.

The School of Science comprises two departments, Natural Sciences and Mathematics. The Department of Natural Sciences offers Associate of Science degrees in Biology, Chemistry, Engineering, Engineering Technology, General Science, Geology, Physics and Pre-Medical Science. In addition, an Associate of Applied Science degree in Horticulture is offered, as well as a one-year certificate in Horticulture.
The Department of Mathematics offers an Associate of Science degree in Mathematics. Courses range from developmental to upper level classes such as linear algebra and differential equations. The department supports the mathematics requirements in other degrees offered at San Juan College such as health, energy, engineering, and computer science. Science and math courses taken at San Juan College provide a strong background for students interested in transferring to a four-year program to complete a bachelor’s degree in the sciences or mathematics.

The School of Trades and Technology offers 14 full-time programs with options of a two-year Associate of Applied Science degree or certificates. Each program gives students the opportunity to apply skills learned from the classroom/lab/shop to the work environment. Programs include Auto Body, Automotive, Building Trades, Cosmetology, Diesel, Drafting, EMS, Fire Science, Geographic Information Systems, Instrumentation and Controls, Machine Shop, Police Science, Welding, and Veterinary Technology. Partnerships with General Motors, Toyota and Chrysler are established within the automotive program.
