The Associate of Science degree in Mathematics is intended to prepare students for transfer to a four-year baccalaureate granting institution. Those wishing to transfer to a baccalaureate granting institution and pursue a bachelor’s degree program are strongly encouraged to check with their advisor and carefully coordinate their coursework at San Juan College with the requirements of the transfer institution.
Note: All courses must be completed with a C or higher to count toward the degree.

Program Proficiencies and/or Prerequisites
Students’ Accuplacer score for Mathematics will determine their placement in the Math sequence, beginning with MATH-115 Intermediate Algebra-Applications and into MATH-188 Calculus I . Students who place at the beginning of the Math sequence will need to complete 11 additional credit hours of coursework to complete the degree requirements.
General Education Requirements: 32 credits
Mathematics Core: 15 credits
Note: MATH-188 is included in Gen Ed total. Mathematics and Science Electives: 10 credits
Choose a minimum of 10 credits: Elective: 3 credits
- Any course 110 or higher - 3 cr.
