The Associate of Arts degree is intended for transfer to a four-year baccalaureate-granting institution. Those wishing to transfer and pursue a degree program in psychology are strongly encouraged to check with their advisor and carefully coordinate their coursework at San Juan College with the requirements of the transfer institution. In general, however, it is suggested that students complete the New Mexico Transfer Module as outlined below.

Note: A grade of C or better is required in all courses.

General Education Requirements: 31 credits

Gen Ed - Mathematics, Humanities, Fine Arts, Elective

Gen Ed - Mathematics 3 cr.

Core Program Requirements: 29 credits

Psychology Course Requirements: 16 credits

PSYC-120 Introduction to Psychology 3 cr.
PSYC-210 Stats for Social & Behavioral Science 4 cr.
PSYC-230 Human Development 3 cr.
Choose two of the following courses:
PSYC-240 Social Psychology 3 cr.
PSYC-289 Creating Positive Change 3 cr.
PSYC-275 Theories of Personality 3 cr.

Approved Psychology Electives: 6 credits
