The Associate of Arts degree is intended for transfer to a four-year baccalaureate granting institution. Those wishing to transfer to a baccalaureate granting institution and pursue a degree program in Human Services or Substance Abuse are strongly encouraged to check with their advisor and carefully coordinate their coursework at San Juan College with the requirements of the transfer institution. In general, however, it is suggested that students complete the New Mexico Transfer Module as outlined below.
A grade of C or better is required in all courses.

General Education Requirements: 31 credits
- Gen Ed - Mathematics 3 cr.
- Gen Ed - Lab Science 4 cr.
- Gen Ed - Humanities 3 cr.
- Gen Ed - Fine Arts 3 cr.
- Gen Ed - Remaining Requirement 3 courses/9 cr.
Gen Ed - Social/Behavioral Sciences
Core Requirements: 21 credits
Additional Science Requirement: 3-4 credits
Choose one additional science course from the following:
Electives: 4-5 credits
Take 4-5 credits to meet program total of 60 credits. Courses must be numbered 110 or higher.
