The online Occupational Safety degree provides students technical safety education in the growing field of safety and prepares them for entry level safety positions in a variety of industries. Degree seeking students in Occupational Safety must complete 62-63 credit hours to earn the Associate of Applied Science (AAS). The required courses are all online. General Education courses are available through conventional, face-to-face classes or online. Please refer to the current semester’s course schedule as not all courses are offered online in all semesters.
Upon completion of the 32 credit hours of SAFE core curriculum, students will earn an Occupational Safety Certificate.
TEEX TRANSFER STUDENTS: Students who have verified TEEX Certified Safety Health Official™ (CSHO) certificate will receive 18 transfer credits towards the Energy core curriculum and 3 credits towards the humanities general education requirement.
NOTE: A student must earn a grade of C or higher in all courses to obtain a certificate or degree.
