The Petroleum Production Operations Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree program is designed to provide technically oriented entry-level students with knowledge and skills of production processes and equipment operations. Students will be able to perform basic tasks in the field including effectively operating a primary separator, monitoring wellhead pressures, and troubleshooting most types of surface equipment in their area of responsibility.
Note: The student must earn a grade of C or higher in all courses to obtain a certificate or AAS degree. Students who wish to be employed in the Energy field must have a clean driving record and may be required to take a drug and alcohol test or submit to a background check.

SJC First Year Experience Requirement: 0-3 Credits
General Education Requirements: 16-18 Credits
Laboratory Science:
Geology 1110 and Geol 1110L are required.
Social/Behavioral Science:
Energy Pathway Core Requirements: 15 Credits
Choose 5 courses from below: Program Core Requirements: 32 Credits
TOTAL DEGREE REQUIREMENTS: 60-66 Credits
Notes:
MATH-1170 was previously a 3 credit course. A student who previously completed the 3 credit MATH-1170 successfully has satisfied the MATH requirement. Suggested Course Sequence for Full-Time Students:
