The Associate of Arts degree in Elementary Education is intended to transfer to a four-year Teacher Education program in Elementary Education. Students are strongly encouraged to check with their advisor and carefully coordinate their coursework at San Juan College with the requirements of the transfer institution. Your four-year degree program may require additional pre-approved credit hours within your chosen teaching field.
Note: Student must earn a grade of ‘C’ or higher in all courses to obtain an Elementary Education A.A. degree.

SJC First Year Experience Requirement: 3 credits
General Education Requirements: 32 credits
Gen Ed: Laboratory Science
Choose 8 credits (2 courses and associated Lab) from the following: Gen Ed - Social/Behavioral Science
Core Course Requirements: 28 credits
TOTAL DEGREE REQUIREMENTS: 60-64 credits
