General Education Requirements for Associate of Applied Science Degrees

Students seeking an Associate of Applied Science degree must complete a minimum of 15 credit hours of general education as listed in the degree program. General education credits will come from the following areas:

Communications: 6 credits

Humanities/Fine Arts & Social/Behavioral Sciences: 3 credits

Anthropology

Business and Economics

History

Language

Literature

Non-Applied

Philosophy

Political Science

Psychology and Sociology

Science and Mathematics: 3 credits

General Sciences:

May be Non-Laboratory

Laboratory Sciences

Mathematics:

MATH-1170 Math for Technical Careers 4 OR Higher*

Applied Technology: 3 credits OR Choose 3 credits from above areas

TOTAL REQUIREMENTS: 15 credits

* Course will transfer to an in-state institution to meet general education requirements.
