Mathematics, A.S.

The Associate of Science degree in Mathematics is intended to prepare students for transfer to a four-year baccalaureate granting institution.  Those wishing to transfer to a baccalaureate granting institution and pursue a bachelor’s degree program are strongly encouraged to check with their advisor and carefully coordinate their coursework at San Juan College with the requirements of the transfer institution.

Note:  Student must earn a grade of ‘C’ or higher in all courses to earn a Mathematics A.S. degree.

SJC First Year Experience Requirement: 3 credits


Program Proficiencies and/or Prerequisites


Students’ Mathematics Placement will determine their starting point in the Math sequence, beginning with MATH-1215 Intermediate Algebra 4  and into MATH-1510 Calculus I 4 . Students who place at the beginning of the Math sequence will need to complete 11 additional credit hours of coursework to complete the degree requirements.

General Education Requirements: 32 credits


TOTAL DEGREE REQUIREMENTS: 60-63 credits
