The Associate of Science degree in Geology is intended to prepare students for transfer to a four-year baccalaureate granting institution. Those wishing to transfer to a baccalaureate granting institution and pursue a bachelor’s degree program are strongly encouraged to check with their advisor and carefully coordinate their coursework at San Juan College with the requirements of the transfer institution.
Note: Student must earn a grade of ‘C’ or higher in all courses to obtain a Geology A. S. degree.

SJC First Year Experience Requirement: 3 credits
Program Proficiencies and/or Prerequisites
Students’ placement in the Math sequence will be based upon the highest Math course successfully completed in high school, beginning with MATH-1215 Intermediate Algebra-Applications through MATH-1240 Pre-Calculus. Students who place at the beginning of the Math sequence will need to complete 4 additional credit hours of coursework to complete the degree requirements. General Education Requirements: 33 credits
Gen Ed - Communications, Social/Behavioral Science, Humanities, Fine Arts Recommended courses for the Communication requirement: Core Course Requirements: 27 credits
TOTAL DEGREE REQUIREMENTS: 60-63 credits
