The Associate of Science degree in General Science is intended for students who know they want to study science, but have not yet selected a field of study. Students will take courses that will provide an introduction to the fields of biology, chemistry, geology, and physics. The degree will provide a strong foundation to enable students to choose their field of study in preparation for transfer to a four-year baccalaureate granting institution.
Note: Student must earn a grade of ‘C’ or higher in all courses to obtain a General Science A.S. degree.

SJC First Year Experience Requirement: 3 credits
Program Proficiencies and/or Prerequisites: 8 credits
General Education Requirements: 33 credits
Gen Ed - Communications, Humanities, Social/Behavioral Science, Fine Arts
Gen Ed - Lab Science
Requirement included in Science-core classes. Core Requirements: 24 credits
Approved Science Electives: 8 credits
Choose 8 credits from the following courses: TOTAL DEGREE REQUIREMENTS: 60-63 credits
