The Associate of Arts degree in Secondary Education is intended to transfer to a four-year Teacher Education program in Secondary Education. Students are strongly encouraged to check with their advisor and carefully coordinate their coursework at San Juan College with the requirements of the transfer institution. Your four-year degree program may require additional pre-approved credit hours within your chosen teaching field.
Note: Student must earn a grade of ‘C’ or higher in all coursework to earn a Secondary Education A.A. degree.

Program Proficiencies and/or Prerequisites: 3 credits
General Educaion Requirements: 32 credits
Gen Ed - Fine Arts & Elective
Gen Ed - Laboratory Science
Choose 4 courses/8 credits (2 lecture/2 lab) from the following: Gen Ed - Social/Behavioral Science
Gen Ed - Humanities
Choose 1 course/3 credits from the following: Core Course Requirements: 28 credits
Program Content Areas
Take 12 credits from one Program Content Area TOTAL DEGREE REQUIREMENTS: 63-66 credits
