COSM-227 Laboratory Supervision I 8 cr. An advance course that covers the theory, principles, and practices of supervision. Topics include teaching methods, techniques, attitudes, effective teaching strategies, mentoring, student retention, coaching, peer coaching, reflection skills, and observational skills. Prospective teachers will develop leadership and supervisory platforms and professional development plans for individuals and schools. Other subjects covered are independent clinic supervision, client communication, management of reception area, inventory control, effective dispensary procedures, supervision of sanitation, ensuring client safety, and technical ability.
