PTAP-1511 Applied Modalities 3 This course will build upon knowledge of phases of inflammation and healing and cover the theory and practice of applying physical agents/modalities in rehabilitation. This course will provide practical details for using clinical judgment and reasoning to select and apply specific physical agents within intervention parameters to optimize patient outcomes safely and effectively. Students will also perform data collection, monitor patient health, illness, and response to treatment, interpret data for quality assurance, and complete accurate documentation following legal and ethical guidelines. Applicable skills include manual therapy, cryotherapy, thermotherapy, ultrasound, electrotherapy, other modalities, and patient education.
