We are excited that you have chosen San Juan College as your educational partner! Ensuring your success is our top priority. We are committed to ensure that your dreams become a reality through our iCARE values of Innovation, Collaboration, Accountability, Respect and Excellence.
Whether you are looking to obtain a new degree, take a few classes to advance in your career, or discover a new passion, San Juan College is the perfect choice. We also know the important role education plays in the workforce, and our staff and faculty are dedicated to helping you gain the competitive edge that is vital to your success.
Once you begin your class or degree, we are also committed to help you finish what you started. New Mexico has joined the Complete College America Alliance of States, which is dedicated to significantly increase completion and graduation rates. Nationally, the fact is that only five percent of full-time associate degree-seeking students complete their degree within the intended two-year timeframe. We take this very seriously and are working to change this, as delays in completion can have a financial impact - It not only increases your educational costs, but it can also postpone your earning potential. Along with encouraging degree seeking students to take 15 credits per semester when possible, we have a strong team of advisors who are here to help you stay on track by developing a plan to meet your educational goals on time.
Offering more than 100 degree programs, we provide you with flexible options to learn. Along with our face-to-face classes, we provide an array of online classes. Most recently we implemented Saturday College at our San Juan College East campus, where you can complete your associate’s degree in Liberal Arts by attending classes on Saturdays and online.
San Juan College offers a range of support services to provide you with that extra assistance when needed - from our Student Achievement Center to our Tutoring Center. The Veterans Center supports the educational success of our U.S. military veterans and their families, as well as helps to connect them to community resources. The Hispanic/Latino and Native American Centers integrate the unique cultural and social aspects into academic life.
There is plenty of college life to be experienced through student activities - choose to join a club or become involved in student government. We also offer opportunities to learn by traveling abroad through our Global Studies program. Add to your academic excellence through our College Honors program. Once you complete your degree, our Career Services staff is here to help you launch into the workforce through résumé and interview workshops, as well as connections to potential employment.
You can also continue your education right here at home and earn your bachelor’s or master’s degrees through our partnerships with University of New Mexico or New Mexico Highlands. SJC graduates, who earn an Associate of Science in Engineering, also have the option of transferring directly to New Mexico Tech’s Bachelor of Science degree program.
Your future begins now! We are here to help you achieve your dreams, reach your goals and open doors to new horizons. We look forward to being a part of your educational journey.
