Comprehensive Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Certificate

This certificate includes classroom preparation for the CDL permit tests at the MVD office, driving skills training in preparation for the CDL driving test, business administration skills, truck maintenance skills, and truck loading and unloading methods. Students will be required to pass a DOT medical exam, drug test, and have a clear driving record within the first week of entry into the classroom or college driving program.

Program Requirements

CDLT-145 CDLT Class A Permit 3 cr.
CDLT-146 Class A Driving CDL License 9 cr.
CDLT-174 Logistics and Transportation 2 cr.
CDLT-175 Truck Load Methods 2 cr.

Program Electives

Students must complete 14 credits from the list below:

COSC-111 Fundamentals of Information Literacy & Systems 3 cr.
BADM-114 Introduction to Business 3 cr.
DISL-110 Preventative Maintenance and Inspection 6 cr.
OR any other DISL courses

NOTE: Some DISL courses have co-requisites or pre-requisites.
CDLT-186 CDL Work Experience 2-8 Variable Credits cr.
NOTE: CDLT 186 work experience is variable credit. One week experience is equal to one credit hour.
