Program Learning Outcomes
Upon completion of this program, students will be able to:
- Develop structured lesson plans aligned with state board requirements and industry standards.
- Deliver effective classroom, theory, and practical instruction using appropriate teaching methodologies.
- Demonstrate competency in assessing student performance through written, practical, and competency-based evaluations.
- Apply principles of classroom management and student engagement in both theory and lab settings.
- Integrate safety, sanitation, and regulatory compliance into instructional delivery.
- Utilize instructional technology and teaching aids to enhance learning outcomes.
- Demonstrate professional ethics, leadership, and mentoring skills in an educational environment.
- Complete 500 minimum clock hours to qualify for the state instructor licensing examination.
This program prepares the learner for a career in becoming a Cosmetology, Barbering, Esthetics and/or Manicuring instructor. Features the safety procedures that an instructor must apply, not only for the clientele, but the students. Explains the relevant theory, how to design a course, create lesson plans, and explain various teaching methods. Describes the teaching aids and how to assist and instruct students who have difficulty learning. Aids in building a business plan and generates effective questions for assessments.
