Program Learning Outcomes
Upon completion of this program, students will be able to:
- Demonstrate proficiency in mathematics, general chemistry, and cellular biology.
- Demonstrate a working knowledge of the structures and functions of the human body.
- Employ scientific methods and instrumentation for designing and evaluating laboratory experiments.
- Apply scientific principles to the analysis of quantitative and qualitative biological problems.
- Demonstrate effective literature research and the technical writing and oral communication skills necessary for successful participation in the field of pharmacy.
The Pre-Pharmacy Advanced Certificate, in conjunction with the Pre-Pharmacy A.S. degree, provides the foundation students need to pursue an advanced degree in Pharmacy. Additionally, this certificate will provide students with principles, knowledge, and skills required to begin a career in the field of pharmacy.
While pursuing the Pre-Pharmacy A.S., students will apply to the University of New Mexico College of Pharmacy Early Assurance Program. Upon completion of this certificate, students will be able to start the UNM COP Doctor of Pharmacy Program.
