Industrial Maintenance Mechanic Certificate

Program Learning Outcomes

Upon completion of this program, students will be able to:

  1. Apply safety, health, and environmental practices in maintenance operations.
  2. Perform installation, alignment, and maintenance of mechanical drive systems.
  3. Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot pumps and piping systems.
  4. Apply safe and effective rigging practices.
  5. Apply hydraulic principles to industrial maintenance.

The Industrial Maintenance Mechanic certificate prepares students for entry-level positions for a variety of processes including power generation, mining, natural gas, oil and gas refining, water treatment, semiconductor, food and beverage, petrochemical, and pharmaceutical.  Students receive hands on training in a state-of-the-art facility with equipment models and professional industry experts.

SJC First Year Experience Requirement: 3 Credits


TOTAL CERTIFICATE REQUIREMENTS: 34-37 Credits
