Program Learning Outcomes
Upon completion of this program, students will be able to:
- Articulate Federal Indian policy, emergent to current times.
- Demonstrate an understanding of energy resources, including land, minerals, water and the use and management of these resources.
- Describe the evolution of tribal sovereignty to current state and map out how federal regulations impact tribal business.
- Demonstrate an understanding of Tribal Energy business systems and structures emphasizing ethical, social and Tribal community issues.
- Apply their knowledge and theories from the TEMS courses through submission of prepared questions to Tribal councils and organizations visited.
This certificate will provide students with a focused study of the tribal energy business, management, and leadership and will provide students with principles, knowledge, and skills required to begin a career in the field of tribal energy management.
Note: Student must earn a grade of ‘C’ or higher in all courses required for the program in order to receive a degree or certificate.

SJC First Year Experience: 3 Credits
Energy Pathway Core Requirements: 15 Credits
The Energy Core courses are online. Students may earn a certificate in Foundations of Energy Production by completing the General Education requirements (15 cr.) and the Energy Core requirements (15 cr.). Select from the list below 5 courses for a total of 15 credits. See advisor for program prerequisites. Program Core Requirements: 15 Credits
