IT - Information Technology Support Certificate

Program Learning Outcomes

Upon completion of this program, students will be able to:

  1. Contrast and explain fundamental hardware components, basic software functions and develop solutions to address routine challenges.
  2. Configure and troubleshoot basic computer hardware, software and network systems.
  3. Determine and apply effective professional communication techniques in both written and oral forms.

The Information Technology Support Certificate consists of courses which provide students with core IT knowledge and technical support skills used in business and industry. Students will take courses in hardware/software, networking, database, cloud computing and security. They will also learn how to apply these skills in a tech support environment. Students are strongly encouraged and/or may be required to pursue CompTIA certifications throughout their studies. It is highly recommended that students consult with an academic advisor prior to pursuing this certificate.

Note:  Student must earn a grade of ‘C’ or higher in all courses to obtain the Information Technology Support Certificate.
