Program Learning Outcomes

Upon completion of this program, students will be able to:

1. Evaluate and apply key psychological concepts and theories to real-world issues.
2. Evaluate psychological phenomena using scientific reasoning and methods.
3. Demonstrate ethical judgment and uphold core psychological values in practice.
4. Communicate ideas effectively with diverse audiences through a variety of modalities.
5. Demonstrate self-awareness, self-regulation, and effective teamwork skills

The Associate of Arts degree is intended for transfer to a four-year baccalaureate-granting institution.  Those wishing to transfer and pursue a degree program in psychology are strongly encouraged to check with their advisor and carefully coordinate their coursework at San Juan College with the requirements of the transfer institution.  In general, however, it is suggested that students complete the New Mexico Transfer Module as outlined below.

Note:  A grade of C or better is required in all courses.
