Program Learning Outcomes
Upon completion of this program, students will be able to:

This is a focused New Mexico Public Education Department (NMPED) accredited program for individuals who hold at least a baccalaureate degree but have not completed a traditional educator preparation program. This is an alternative licensure program for obtaining a New Mexico Level 1 Elementary (K-8) teaching license. The 19 credits cover competencies for entry-level elementary teachers, including 6 credits of reading and a field-based component with a minimum of 105 hours of supervised classroom teaching.
Note: Student must earn a grade of ‘C’ or higher in all Gen-Ed, Core, and Elective courses required for this certificate.
