Instrumentation and Controls Technology One Year Certificate

Program Learning Outcomes
Upon completion of this program, students will be able to:

Demonstrate safety awareness and professional communication.

Apply electrical principles to industrial systems.

Calibrate instrumentation and apply PID control for process operations.

Implement motor control and basic PLC systems for industrial automation.
This one year certificate is available for students who want to get a certificate in instrumentation only. This certificate will provide students with principles, knowledge, and skills required to begin a career in the field of instrumentation.
This certificate does require a math requirement before starting the program. If a student is not transferring in a Math course, a Math placement test is required for placement. INST-1150 is required prior to taking the other INST courses.

SJC First Year Experience Requirement: 0-3 Credits
Program Core Requirements: 35-37 Credits
TOTAL CERTIFICATE REQUIREMENTS: 35-40 Credits
