Prepare to enter a health science proram by completing the Pre-Health Sciences Associates of Science (A.S.) program at San Juan College.
The Pre-Health Sciences A.S. prepares students to enter most health science programs while maximizing credit for transfer opportunities. This degree meets most of the prerequisites for the SJC health science programs, although it may not contain all prerequisites. Students should refer to the prerequisite list for their intended program and speak to a health science advisor before their second semester. Students intending to transfer to another institution should work with advisors at the transfer institution to ensure that they are meeting all prerequisites for their transfer program.
Students interested in becoming Medical Doctors, Surgeons, Dentists, or Veterinarians should major in Medical Science. Students interested in becoming Pharmacists should major in Pre-Pharmacy.
Note: Student must earn a grade of ‘C’ or higher in all courses to obtain a Pre-Health Sciences A.S. degree.
