The Associate of Arts degree in Secondary Education will provide students with principles, knowledge, and skills required to begin a career in the field of education.  Students wishing to transfer to a baccalaureate granting institution and pursue a degree in Secondary Education are strongly encouraged to check with their advisor and coordinate their course work at San Juan College with the requirements of the transfer institution. Your four-year degree program may require additional pre-approved credit hours within your chosen teaching field.

Note:  Student must earn a grade of ‘C’ or higher in all coursework to earn a Secondary Education A.A. degree.

SJC First Year Experience Requirement: 3 Credits


Program Proficiencies and/or Prerequisites: 3 Credits


General Education Requirements: 32 Credits


TOTAL DEGREE REQUIREMENTS: 63-66 Credits
