HITP-2212 Advanced Coding 3 This course provides an in-depth study of complex coding scenarios across multiple healthcare settings. Students will apply advanced coding principles using current coding systems (ICD-10-CM/PCS, CPT, and HCPCS), while gaining hands-on experience with an encoder and computer-assisted coding (CAC). Emphasis is placed on accurate code assignment, documentation review, and compliance with official guidelines. Students will also explore auditing techniques to assess coding accuracy. Formerly HITP-212 Prerequisites: HITP-1170 , HITP-1230 , Admission into either the Health Information Technology Program or the Medical Coder/Biller Program. Offered: All -Faculty Permission Required
