SOCI-2611 Sociology of Health Care Innovation 1 This course explores the role of united states-based health care research and development on the health care system, including in the United States and globally. Consideration will be given the costs and pricing Structures of research, development, and testing of pharmaceuticals, medical equipment, and best practices, both in the domestic and global markets. The course will also consider the impact of patient laws, efforts to make emerging medication available to critically ill patients, and strategies to facilitate access for patients who lack resources.
