SAFT-2310 Comm Construction Considerations II 2

Course addresses safety certifications, OSHA partnerships, women in the workforce, Latino workforce, training and communication, and future safety issues. This course covers professionally recognized certification requirements for certification of construction craft supervisors, and Construction Health and Safety Technicians, OSHA VPP programs, gender comparisons, safety as is relates to a Spanish-speaking Latino workforce with the resultant training and communication issues, and how safety issues are likely to change in the future. A rationale for understanding the importance of proper certification of various construction workers & supervisors, how OSHA can help deal with safety related issues through their Voluntary Protection Program (VPP), the role of women in today’s construction industry and the factors that increase job learning and retention, Latino workforce issues, and safety considerations of the future.
