SURG-110 Introduction to Surgical Technology 6 Students will learn tasks and responsibilities of the surgical technologist. They will learn the practice of sterile technique. They will learn surgical scrub, gown and glove, patient positioning, draping and surgical prep on patients. They will know the practice of standard precautions in the O.R. When they are finished with this class they will know how to set-up cases, open sterile supplies, perform counts, and pass instruments. They will do some practicum to compliment this course. Acceptance into the Surgical Technology Program. Prerequisites: BIOL-2210 /BIOL-2210L (BIOL-252/252L), BIOL-2225 /BIOL-2225L (BIOL-253/253L), ENGL-1110 (ENGL-111), ENGL-1120 OR ENGL-2210 (ENGL-210 OR 218) and MATH-1155 /MATH-1155A (MATH-114/114A) or higher.
