BIOL-2991 Biology Directed Research 2 This course will allow students to investigate scientific questions using hypothesis-driven research under the direction of an experienced research guide. This course is appropriate for students demonstrating a strong desire to pursue scientific endeavors. This course will provide students with hands on research experience and the scientific understanding required to perform basic laboratory techniques including, lab safety and measurement, media preparation and bacterial culturing, bacterial transformations and cloning, recombinant DNA techniques, gel electrophoresis, basic bioinformatics skills. Upon completion of this course, students will have a completed project to present at a science fair or a research conference. Offered: Summer - Faculty Permission Required
