Paramedic, A.S.

Entrance requirements and policies:

  • Core classes must be taken in same configuration as AAS/Certificate
  • Students may need to consider taking additional classes appropriate to future academic pursuits and university transfer and program requirements

Note: The student must complete each course in the curriculum with a C or better to remain in and graduate from the program.

Due to changes in accreditation and industry standards, any student that does not complete this paramedic program in its entirety within 24 months must repeat the entire program.

Total Program Prerequisite Courses: 23.5-27.5

Social and Behavioral Science: 6-9 credits

(Minimum of 6 credits. Must have 15 credits total between Social/Behavioral Science Humanities/Fine Arts areas.)

Humanities and Fine Arts: 6-9 credits

(Minimum of 6 credits. Must have 15 credits total between Humanities/Fine Arts and Social/Behavioral Science areas.)

Mathematics: 3-7 credits

Students’ Accuplacer score for Mathematics will determine their placement in the Math sequence, beginning with MATH-115 Intermediate Algebra-Applications  through MATH-160 College Algebra . Students who place at the beginning of the Math sequence will need to complete 4 additional credit hours of coursework (MATH 115 ) to complete the degree requirements.

Lab Science Requirement: (8-12 credits)

Total General Education Requirements: 35-43

Total Prerequisites and General Education: 50.5-58.5

Total Core EMSP: 47

Total Credits: 97.5-105.5
